Progress Report on Obama’s Disarming America’s Military

When Obama was a candidate for the Presidency of the United States, he promised in a speech presented on YouTube.com and in a series of speeches:

• “I will cut investments in our missile defense system“;
• “I will set a goal of a world without nuclear weapons;
• “I will not develop new nuclear weapons.”
• “I will take our ICBMs off their trigger alert;
• “I will achieve deep cuts in our nuclear arsenals“;
• “I will slow our development of future combat systems (state-of-the-art fighting ability);
• “I will not weaponize space.” That is, Obama, will not defend our cities by arming satellites with lasers and missile interceptors or any weapons which can be launched against attacking enemy missiles carrying nuclear or EMP (electromagnetic pulse) warheads targeting our cities*

*Scientists claim that one successful EMP detonation could destroy solid state control systems nationwide in everything from central bank computers, to electric power grids and transportation, and return America to the 19th century – thus rendering us defenseless and a sitting duck for foreign invasion.

Obama’s Progress to Date

Florida’s U.S. Representative Allen West Reported on Newsmax.TV [10/11/11, interviewer Kathleen Walter, posted on Youtube.com] that such a level of alarm has developed over Obama’s progress toward his stated goals that, among others, the following officials, armed with facts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have gone before the House Armed Services Committee to protest how detrimental Obama’s military policies are to the security of the United States; Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; Secretary of Defense; Commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps, and others.

Due to the failure of Obama’s “supercommittee” charged with devising deep cuts in the nation’s budget deficit, the Pentagon is automatically required to cut at least $500 billion from its budget. West, in his exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV was asked what would be the consequences of those cuts:

“The army, which is today at 569,999, would go down to 426,000;

The Marine Corps, which is at 202,000, would go down to 145,000 . Navy ships, which are at 288, would go down to 238; Air Force fighters, which are at 1,990, would go down to 1,512.”

Obama is “Gutting” the Military

“Basically”, West said, “you’re gutting the military. It becomes hollow, especially at a time when we find out from the [International Atomic Energy Agency] report that we have the number one threat to peace and stability in the world, Iran, getting close to having a militarized nuclear device.” If those cuts are implemented, “you will not be able to [protect and defend] the United States’ national security.”

No Concept

Editor’s viewpoint: the only reason why the American people tolerate the apparent above-described betrayal of America’s defense requirements is because they have no concept of the unspeakable nightmare and suffering that would result for their loved ones should we be attacked and our enemies be victorious.

In my opinion it is essential that everyone reading this editorial review my prior post titled AMERICA – OUR SACRED TRUST . It begins with an examination of world history under the sub-title ‘A Slaughter Bench’, demonstrating statistically the horrors which unbridled, conquering man has proven irresistibly to impose on his fellow man; in fact, it demonstrates that the 20th century was the cruelest, most barbaric in history, governments murdering far more of their own citizens than died in military battles. The only possible conclusion is that America is in fact a sacred trust, and that her military capabilities must never be risked or in any way compromised.

An understanding of history would render impossible any speculation that the nature of man will voluntarily or by evolutionary process change for the better, thus it is unthinkable and intolerable that any leader of the free world, especially of America, could compromise the principle that “Eternal vigilance is forever the price of liberty”.

How Much Time?

There are many today who contend that America’s military disarmament is progressing so rapidly that there is not another year left in which to continue our crash unilateral disarmament. It is speculated that the arch enemies of America witness the apparent impotence of America’s leaders, and the confused irresolution and lack of will by her citizens, and that their temptation to attack may prompt them to pull the trigger and take a chance.
