I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed [children – ed] may live (Deuteronomy 30:19).

“At the end of the Revolutionary War, George Washington…called upon America’s citizens to display true greatness as he acknowledged the Source of their (and our) blessings. He said:

‘They [the citizens of America] are from this period to be considered as actors on a most conspicuous theatre, which seems to be peculiarly designated by Providence for the display of human greatness and felicity [happiness-ed]. Here they are not only surrounded with everything, which can contribute to the completion of private and domestic enjoyment, but Heaven has crowned all its other blessing, by giving a fairer opportunity for political happiness, than any other nation has ever been favored with…’ “.

Washington called the American people to greatness as he acknowledged the Source of their (and our) blessings.

NOTE: George Washington’s favorite Book of the Bible was Deuteronomy 28 which, beginning with verse #1,  describes the relationship between obedience to God, and freedom/greatness. I urge you to read it.

“The key to true greatness, that is, in our case today, to saving America, is to Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you (James 4:8). To ‘draw nigh’ is a total commitment which must be made by America’s Christians to love the Lord and obey Him:

Jesus [the Author of America’s liberty – ed] said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind (Mat. 22:37).  Jesus declared: This is the first and great commandment (Mat. 22:38). “

That is, to save America today there can be no higher priority than obedience to Christ.

Fear God and keep His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man (Eccl. 12:13).

**The above was taken from this author’s first book: ABANDONMENT THEOLOGY: THE CLERGY AND THE DECLINE OF AMERICAN CHRISTIANITY; An Action Guide to Save America.  [The “Action Guide” consists of pages of Biblical mandates which relate to critical issues of our times, and their never-changing solutions.
The author’s successor book,  AMERICA – A CALL TO GREATNESS is an issues updated version of it, as applicable today as when written.Circumstances, issues and events change, but God’s laws of liberty are absolute and unchanging.

“Of all the books in my library on Christian Citizenship & Christian heritage, I read all or parts of this book a couple times a year. While other works may have inspired my organization (ministry) this book surely set the tone for many of my presentations. EVERY pastor in America NEEDS to read this book!!!  Please order all you can & pass them on!”       Rev Jerry Halsell, Trumpet For Heritage

Dr. D. James Kennedy, Founder of Evangelism Explosion, Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, Ft. Lauderdale, FL , wrote a special foreword, changed the book cover for TV, televised and marketed A-ACTG throughout the country and to the U.S. Armed Forces for one month, thus reaching and impacting the lives of countless people.

Again, the reason this book has proved timeless and continually relevant in today’s crucial life & death (for our nation) issues, is because, being anchored upon our Creator’s absolute TRUTH  it is solution-based and indisputable.  His Laws of liberty are unchanging throughout the Old and New Testaments.

Heaven and earth will pass away…but the Word of the Lord endureth to all generations (Mat 24:35; Ps 100:5).

NOTE ABOUT WHAT’S HAPPENING TO AMERICA:  Paul, in Romans 1:25 describes conditions of apostasy then, as in America today:  Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator… .

Joshua in 24:15 makes the point in no uncertain terms: …choose you this day whom ye will serve…

Matthew in 6:24 caps it off: No man can serve two masters…Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

NOTE: The above represents one more evidence of “the harmony of the gospels” (Old and New Testaments) in that God’s Laws of liberty are absolute and never change. Only issues and events change.

Please note in the sidebar  to the right, titles to my prior blogs over a number of years. Click any that are of interest to you.  Although they deal in contemporary (at the time) issues, they all have one thing in common: the timelessness of the Bible references and of the teachings of Truth by the “Author of liberty”, Jesus Christ, who declared:

I am the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6).

Stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free (Gal.5:1).

Without me ye can do nothing (John 15:5).

O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust (1 Tim. 6:20).

NOTE:  Different issues: same Laws of Liberty, both Testaments.

All nations that forget God are turned into hell (Psalm 9:17)Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord (Psalm 33:12).
